IMAGE12 is a FREE monthly ezine directed towards promoting the local art scenario. It is not only aimed towards well-established artists, but also those that are new, and whose art deserves much more recognition then they are given credit for. This online magazine is intended not merely to artists or art enthusiasts, but to a wider generation, hoping that everyone can benefit from the true essence of art. The ezine, besides promoting the featured artists with a wide range of visitors, will also serve as a spotlight on local talent - with the final aim of enriching an artistic culture which unfortunately in Malta is quite lacking.

At the moment the ezine will feature 3 artists each month. It will go through by highlighting some artist background together with a couple of their works. At this stage it is important to note that IMAGE12 will take a broad definition of art ... and not limited to traditional art or graphic design. I believe in a world full of artists. Everyone can be an artist in his own manner - and obviously in his own art. Like Patrick Mimran said, 'art is everywhere, but not in everything' - and therefore it is up to you of what you are going to make with what you got! Here at IMAGE12 all kinds of art are welcome, no matter if it is poetry, 3d art, fashion design, software coding, crafts, or some other out-of-the-blues concept you might come up with. All you artists out there ... come on and join this project! [Unfortunately at the moment the ezine will not feature music and musicians.]

So, you might be thinking "I am still a newbie ... I surely won't be accepted". Well, I got some news for you then ... newbies and professionals ... all are welcome to join! As already stated, one of the objects of this ezine is to promote local art and artists - no matter at which stage of proficiency they're in!.

All you have to do is fill up the application form and email it to me together with TWO of your works. The application form can be downloaded from [link]

Some basic rules are:

» Only persons currently residing in Malta can request a feature;

» Rips are not accepted. Please post your OWN work. If it is a manip of someone else's work, post also the original work;

» Each artist can only be featured once a year.

As you may have noticed this project is a one-man-idea. It had long been pumping in my mind, until one fine day I finally decided to put it 'pen-on-paper'. I am very busy as I work, and therefore it is not easy to find time to update the site ... most of the time it will mean that I have to reject other works (which could earn me money) in order to update this site.

As such your support is much appreciated. I would realy appreciate if all readers and artists could spread the word ... while I do the rest of the work =]

Ads can be static or dynamic ... and I can also design them if you don't have any design yet. High quality and wide exposure are ensured.

My name is Martin Attard and I'm the founder, web designer and editor for IMAGE12 [yay I'm the big boss!].

Currently I’m working as an accountant/auditor; when I’m not (sort of) working, I draw a lot through traditional mediums, widely use Photoshop, draw a lot of digital comics, and yeah, I'm also a hobby photographer. I tend to grab whatever art catches my eye, even though I do lean towards Flash. I also love music and consider myself to be a self-enlightened individual [in laymen terms ... I do work and learn a lot on my own - which has both its pros and cons].

The name of the ezine? Well those close to me know what is my link with the word 'twelve' =]

I hope you like the idea behind this project and keep on visiting (and, if possible, participating in the features). Wish you all lots of art!
